Applied ethics
The Continuing Education Course "Applied Ethics" is offered by the University of Innsbruck and the PTH Brixen in collaboration with the Free University of Bozen. The Scientific director is Prof. Josef Quitterer, University of Innsbruck, the Project manager at the PTH Brixen Prof. Martin M. Lintner.
The Lecturers come from the Universities of Innsbruck and Bolzano, the PTH Brixen, but also from the Eurac, the Claudiana and others. The course offers a basic training in ethics as well as an application-oriented teaching of ethical knowledge and competences. It includes 30 ECTS-AP (2 semesters) and contains the basic module and one advanced module which can be selected from two offerings.
The successful completion of the course is credited by the German and Ladin Education Directorate for teachers already in service as an additional qualification for the teaching subject ethics.

- Basic concepts and positions of ethics
- Ethics and anthropology
- Ethics in the area of tension between morality, politics and law
- Ethics in the field of tension between religions and cultures
- Commented reading of classical texts in moral philosophy
Advanced Module 1
- Sustainability
- Environmental Ethics
- Animal Ethics
Advanced Module 2
- Bioethics
- Medical Ethics
- Ethics of caring
For the basic module will be accredited 50 ECM points. Also for the advanced module 2 will be accredited 50 ECM points.
Elective courses for students of unibz
Students of the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano can take selected courses up to 12 ECTS/AP as electives subjects.
